Salad Wash is a nontainting hypochlorite based food sanitiser for destroying bacteria on such food as lettuce, cucumber and tomato.

- Washing of salad fruit and vegetables
By Soak Immersion
Make up the solution to the required dilution in a tank or sink. The material of construction is preferably polythene or polypropylene but it can also be porcelain. Avoid using metal containers or plugs and valves made of metal as these can cause degradation of the Salad Wash solution.
For Lettuce, Tomato and Cucumber
Agitate for 5 to 10 minutes at 100 to 150 ppm active chlorine in water.
For Cress, Onions and Mushrooms
Agitate for 5 to 10 minutes at 200 to 300 ppm active chlorine in water. The concentration of active chlorine in the wash solution and the contact time can be varied within limits but active chlorine levels should be kept below 300 ppm.
